Jacob Dellinger, Executive Producer

Jacob, a three-time Emmy award-winning producer and recipient of the 2021 Public Media Award, has always possessed a deep love for anything audio-visual. Encouraged by his father during his childhood, Jacob, along with his brother Hogan, pursued their shared passion for filmmaking. Their dedication was evident as, by the age of 12, they had diligently saved enough money from mowing lawns to purchase their very own camcorder, which they utilized religiously.

In 2004, Jacob officially commenced his career as a videographer and editor, specializing in producing wedding films for a family friend deeply entrenched in the event videography industry. A significant turning point occurred in 2014 when Jacob made the decision to acquire Michael's Video & Wedding Cinema from his long-time mentor, Mick Azar. To this day, he continues to operate this successful business, exercising his creative vision and passion for filmmaking.

During Jacob's filming assignment at the esteemed Greenbrier Resort in 2016, fate intervened when he crossed paths with Erik Hastings, widely known as "Erik the Travel Guy." Despite a rocky and unconventional beginning, Jacob played an instrumental role in the creation of the critically acclaimed travel series, "Beyond Your Backyard," which has since received two Emmy awards. The show is now broadcasted nationwide on PBS and Create TV stations, as well as streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime and PBS Passport. Serving as the Executive Producer and Director of Photography for the Erik the Travel Guy brand for several years, Jacob left an indelible mark in the industry.

In 2021, Jacob embarked on the newest chapter of his filmmaking career as the Executive Producer of PBS Appalachia, with a primary focus on underserved communities in far Southwest Virginia. This project exemplifies his unwavering dedication to shedding light on important stories and giving voice to those who have been marginalized. Currently residing in New Castle, VA, Jacob shares his life with his wife Molly and their four children, Luke, Isaac, Phebe, and Piper. Their home is a hub of love and creativity, serving as a constant reminder of the meaningful work that fuels Jacob's passion for his craft.
